- Leave the airport driving on Kennedystraße (L84) toward the Porz-Grengel junction
- At the Cologne/Bonn Airport interchange, take a slight right onto the A59 toward
- At the Cologne/Porz interchange, stay to the left and merge onto the A559 toward the Gremberg interchange
- After approx. 8 km, continue driving straight in
- After approx. 200 m, turn right onto Deutz-Mülheimer-Straße, toward the Köln-Messe junction
- At the Köln-Messe junction, continue driving straight on Pfälzischer Ring toward
- After approx. 500 m, stay to the right on the B55a toward the city center (Zentrum)/Zoobrücke
- After approx. 3 km, take a slight right and merge onto Innere Kanalstraße
- After approx. 500 m, turn right onto Merheimer Straße, take the first possible left and make a U-turn, driving back along Merheimer Straße toward Innere Kanalstrasse
- Cross Innere Kanalstraße and continue driving straight toward Krefelder Straße
- After approx. 180 m, turn right onto Gladbacher Wall to arrive at EXPO XXI Cologne
- Distance: approx. 20 km; travel time: approx. 20 min
There is also a direct S-Bahn (metro) connection, Line S13, that goes from the Cologne/Bonn Airport to the Hansaring S-Bahn station and takes less than 20 minutes.
